Fuller course in Houston area
John Thompson, Professor of Reformed Theology and Historical Theology for Fuller Theological Seminary, will be teaching a course in Houston entitled “Presbyterian Creeds.” The class will meet for four weekends, Friday evenings and Saturday mornings, beginning October 3 at Grace Presbyterian, Houston. Students are welcome to audit the course or take it for credit. Classes will include lectures, discussions of readings, case-studies, and small-group exercises. It is probably a good idea that students read all of the Book of Confessions – Study Edition prior to the first class.
Thompson is a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the PC(USA) and a member of the San Fernando Presbytery. His PhD is from Duke University.
This course is designed to enable students to enter into the theological ethos of the Presbyterian tradition. Reformed theology, culture, and tradition will be studied in its historical context and applied to the contemporary church. Special attention will be given to the Reformed confessions.
