Purpose of Presbyterian Women of New Covenant:
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:
- To nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study
- To support the mission of the church worldwide
- To work for justice and peace
- To build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God's kingdom
Presbytery Presbyterian Women held their annual Spring Gathering in April at Grace Presbyterian, Houston. 138 participants and leaders braved stormy weather to attend the event. An offering of $1004 was received to be divided between the YWCA of East Jerusalem and the PW Dove Fund which provides small amounts of direct aid for those who live in the Port Neches area and who “fall through the cracks” of other service agencies support. Beverly Spencer, First PC, Bryan, was installed as the new PW Presbytery Moderator.
