KENDALL BOYD – IKE RECOVERY COORDINATOR

Kendall Boyd joined the full-time Presbytery staff in April 2009 as Ike Recovery Coordinator. He works with county level restore and rebuild committees to coordinate the reconstruction and spiritual restoration efforts of the many Presbyterian volunteers traveling to our area to help those affected by Hurricane Ike’s wrath.

A native of the Houston area, Kendall grew up in two of our presbytery’s churches; first in Saint Andrew’s Presbyterian in Houston, and later at First Presbyterian in Sugar Land. While an undergraduate student at Lamar University, Kendall attended Westminster Presbyterian in Beaumont where he and wife Kim were married. They became founding members of a New Church Development in Garland, TX - Good Shepherd Presbyterian. Kendall was ordained Elder while there and served three terms on session as Church Treasurer.

After completing his Bachelor’s degree (Business Administration, Marketing) Kendall joined Marriott in their Corporate Services group. While there, he began studies for a MBA and graduated from the University of Phoenix in 2005 with an MBA (Strategy and Finance). After completing graduate school, Kendall decided to redirect his career into Social Services and joined the Houston Food Bank in 2006.

Kendall began his passion for service to others early in life through the Boy Scouts, becoming an Eagle Scout. Currently, he works with Golden Beginnings Golden Retriever Rescue to assist lost or abused Golden Retrievers find a new Forever Family to adopt and love them. Kim and Kendall currently live in the Richmond area where they are just a few minutes from their siblings, his parents, and seven of their nieces and nephews.
