Committee on Nominations
For meeting dates and times, contact the chair or pbrantley@pbyofnewcovenant.org.
How can you serve your presbytery?
There are many opportunities within the Presbytery of New Covenant where you can use your abilities, interests, and time to serve the ministry, mission, and work of the Presbytery. Each year, the Nominating Committee seeks more than 100 persons to serve Jesus Christ through work in our councils, committees, ministries, and governing boards.
In order that we elect qualified people who fairly represent our entire presbytery, the Nominating Committee works to identify many potential nominees. We ask pastors, educators, and elders for nominations from local congregations. We ask presbytery committee leaders and staff for nominations from the presbytery at large. We ask the individuals who read this to consider self-nomination to join in our presbytery’s mission and ministry.
How do you make a nomination or make your personal interest known?
Read the descriptions for presbytery committees and consider if your spiritual gifts and talents match the work of a particular commitee. Print and fill out a nominations form and return it to the Presbytery Nominating Committee, 1110 Lovett Blvd., Houston, TX, 77006-3824; or fax 713-526-8814.
If you are selected, the Nominating Committee will contact you to determine your willingness to serve. That person will provide information on the ministry’s mission, the duties of its members, and the time and locations of meetings. The committee's goal is to have a complete slate of nominations for the Presbytery to elect at its November meeting.
