In May, the presbytery approved a process for funding special Vision Initiatives Grants from the generous bequest from the estate of Mrs. Cris Miller. The initial criteria for the applications is:
- Priority in funding will be given to activities that result in increasing the overall membership of New Covenant Presbytery. Such increasing may be the result of new church development, redevelopment of established churches, general outreach to unchurched individuals or other approaches within the Mission of the Presbytery.
- Priority in funding will be given to activities, which reach out as the Presbyterian Church to communities, groups and organizations with the express purpose of increasing disciples.
Grant applications will be received between January 1 and March 31, 2007 for a funding year beginning July 1, 2007. The total of all grants will be approximately $125,000.
This is a grand opportunity for us to be creative and transformational as a presbytery. The General Council encourages applications for these grants.
